This variety comes to the states via German Imigrants.  Very attractive bulbs and hardy.  Clove colors ranges from tan to brown.  Rocamboles produce large cloves which are easily peeled, making them preferred by chefs.  We love them too because of their flavor.  Our tasting shows a strong garlic flavor, lingering, with some heat.  Some would say, sharp and spicy!
